Hello dear Recipe-of-the-Month subscribers! How was your holiday weekend? We hope that you ate at least one really delicious thing and got to hug someone you love <3 We worked a little, spent time cooking with family, and went for a few invigorating hikes in the crisp fall air.
Gifting season is officially upon us, and we know there’s a lot of competition for your time and attention as 2024 winds down. While brainstorming what sort of gift guide would be most helpful and fun, we thought it would be really cool to create one that pairs something homemade with something store-bought … inspired by Semi-Homemade Cooking with Sandra Lee, a Food Network classic! It was a blast to think about special items we’ve both been loving this year, holiday foods we are craving, and ways you might mix and match them.
In case you’re in a gift guide mood, here are Maria’s guides from holidays past:
2022 Food-Lovers Gift Guide (all gifts made by women of color)
2021 Affordable Foodie Gift Guide
2020 Food-Lovers Gift Guide (all women-owned businesses, gifts under $50)
This year, we are feeling so grateful for the Recipe-of-the-Month community. You all make our little corner of the internet a lovely place to be. Thank you for your support and excitement about the new things we’ve been up to, whether it’s the launch of Maria’s latest cookbook, The Hostess Handbook, or her collaboration with Pamela Anderson on I Love You, or our three food guides—SF Bay Area, Los Angeles, California’s Central Coast—you’ve really made us feel like we are part of something bigger than just the little home kitchen where we work. We feel connected to you in ways big and small. And we love you!
Wishing you and yours a beautiful holiday season. The Semi-Homemade Gift Guide below is for paid subscribers only, as a thank you for your generous support of this space. Keep your eyes out for holiday cookie recipes coming to inboxes later this month! xo
P.S. Bay Area friends, you can catch Maria at the TCHO Chocolate Holiday Market this Sunday, December 8th from 11:00am to 2:00pm.
